2022 Candidates for Commissioner of Trust Funds

There are two open seats and two candidates for the Commissioners of Trust Funds. 
The commissioners of trust funds manage and control all funds left, given, bequeathed or devised to the town, and distribute the income in accordance with the terms of the respective trusts.

Why are you running for this office?
I believe the Commissioners of Trust Funds is one of the most important elected boards in the Town of Dedham that can sometimes go unnoticed with their important role in the management and distribution of scholarship funds, investments, and other funds. They maintain these records throughout the year and ensure the integrity of such records. I look forward to working and learning from the other board members as well as the Treasurer/Collector office in the future.

What are your qualifications relative to the position you are running for?
I feel my background in Accounting and Finance and experience in local government will make me a great addition to an already well-established commission. I graduated Bridgewater State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance and have been working as an Accountant for the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust within the State Treasury since I graduated college. I am also currently serving as a Town Meeting member for Precinct 6 but have been serving as a member since the age of 18 for Precinct 7 where I grew up.

What are your top priorities for Dedham's future?
My priorities for the future include but are not limited to continuing the honorable work the Commissioners of Trust Funds Board does for the Town of Dedham. My goal is to work with the other commissioners in managing the funds and investments and providing accurate financial reports representing the activity of the town's trust funds. I hope to add value to the board with my background in Accounting and Finance and experience in local government. I am also eager to expand my working knowledge from the other commissioners during my time on the board.
