Why are you running for Town Meeting? I am seeking to get more engaged in local governmental process. It's one thing to ask questions and have online conversations, as well as face-to-face conversations with folks that are more involved as officials or TM Members. As a representative of Dedham's Town Meeting, I could delve further to understand the budget and programs deeper than what's on paper.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? Getting a town wide better understanding and approach on perceived less loose spending while also having more progressive programs. I don't think slightly less spending, which could mean lower property taxes, I don't think it equals less embracement of DEI programs. The general perception indicates otherwise at this time, and of course it is a tricky needle to thread, especially online. Also I would partake in potential new committee to discuss a mature code of conduct for town reps and officials on social media.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I am a proud Riverdale, DMS and DHS alum. I played varsity volleyball and basketball, class treasurer, Student Council, Link-Crew, and the School Committee representative. At SUNY Oswego, I played volleyball, elected two-time team captain and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. I majored in Environmental Earth Sciences with a minor in Sustainability Studies where I learned the critical roles we play in keeping the planet clean for future generations. I worked as a student educator for the Sustainability Department, graduated with honor and accepted a role as an environmental project scientist at one of the largest environmental consulting firms in the country.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? As a representative of the great island known as Riverdale, I will continue to bring my can-do attitude, work with neighbors to create a beautification plan for Bridge Street and work diligently with town leaders and the community to ensure that the Riverdale Elementary school remains on this side of town. As a current Town Meeting Member, I have attended all Town Meetings and joined informational meetings to ensure that I am an informed member. If re-elected to TM, I will continue to be an accessible member and bring a clear, creative, and fiscally responsible perspective. I believe all politics start locally, and nothing is more fundamental than being a member of our Town Meeting.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I am a statistician and global health researcher, who moved to Dedham 6 years ago. My husband, Nathan, and I have two small children (4 years and 6 years old); we both believe that public service in our town is important to support and create the place we want to live in, and the place that we believe that Dedham can be. He already serves on Dedham’s Conservation Committee and Master Plan Committee. I currently serve on Dedham’s Snow Removal Committee. I am running for Town Meeting because I believe this is an important part of our town’s decision-making processes. I am committed to learning others' ideas and recommendations as I form my Town Meeting decisions.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? My values, which would be reflected in my Town Meeting positions, include: fostering community in Dedham that values and is welcoming to the broad diversity of the town’s citizens; preserving our natural and historic spaces; making a livable Dedham, that is considerate of accessibility and affordability; and investing in the young residents of Dedham.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I have lived in Riverdale since 2003, we chose our house because of the park and the river. The size and feel of Dedham reminded us of the town Dennis and I grew up in Ireland. We have never regretted that choice and now that both my sons Lugh and Gus Cunningham have been through Riverdale School and are now at DMS and DHS, I have more time to repay the kindness and welcome this community has given us by getting involved in the future of our town and especially Riverdale.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? The pandemic made me realize that it's a time to help your neighbor and try to be a good citizen. I work in Healthcare and saw the impact the virus had on families and coworkers. Everyone seems to know someone who was impacted by Covid 19. So, it's time to give back to my neighbors and hopefully represent their best interests. My plan is to attend all meetings, keep an open mind with proposed articles, and read up on as much information available for each proposal.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? I've lived in Dedham for over 25 years and I still see the same people either jogging, biking or walking several times a week. I've seen the Charles River go from a polluted body of water to a wonderful recreational environment with herons and as of late a few eagles nesting in its trees. My priority would be to keep Dedham as green and health oriented as possible.

- Maintain the town feel and prevent too much development
- Increase access to and accessibility of open spaces, particularly the river
