Why are you running for Town Meeting? My neighbors & this community have become very important to me. We moved back to Dedham after a short time away because we missed being part of a community. And since then our circle has grown... so much that we have become very involved with a number of town initiatives.
I care about how the town is governed and its openness and response to new approaches and positive changes when opportunities are presented. It matters to me that the entire town is considered in decision making, and what the impact of decisions are on the larger community, environment, and town finances.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? - A town government that is transparent, communicates well with the entire town & welcomes new ideas and different perspectives.
- Dedham being a livable community: for example.... finding solutions for vehicles to move safely through town while making walking and biking safer for everyone who wants to walk and bike. (Including children, the elderly and people with special needs)
- Sustainability and environmental protection
- Taking advantage of all our natural resources, green spaces, waterways, to add to the quality of life of our residents.
- Recreation and Arts programs that are available to everyone in the town.
- Support affordable housing and promote living wages within the town

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I grew up in Dedham and love raising my family here. Over the past few years, I’ve become more involved in community matters such as co-leading the effort to pass the ordinance restricting gun stores away from parks and residential neighborhoods, Chairing the Parent Action Team of Dedham Organization On Substance Awareness, and coaching youth sports. I’m now running for town meeting to effect meaningful change towards a healthier, more transparent community that meets the needs of all residents, including families, residents of color, and seniors.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? I will work for a healthier community, establishment of meaningful diversity and equity planning in town budget decisions and policy making, transparency across town government, and safe, maintained recreational spaces accessible to all ages.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? As a life long resident of Dedham, having attended The old Avery, Dedham Middle & Dedham High School, school safety for our students will be first and foremost, as well as for all residents. As the parent of a 3 1/2 yr. old I want him to have the same opportunities I had while growing up in Dedham. I want to be a part of town government that promotes transparency and dialogue within the community and values everyone's opinion, whether they agree with mine or not. Everyone needs to be heard and I'll be listening to all residents and taxpayers in Dedham.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? My top priority is to bring civility back to town politics and allow all residents to have a say in how our town is governed. To be willing to listen to both sides of the aisle and engage in meaningful dialogue. To ensure all students have the ability to thrive in our public schools and receive any and all services they need, as well as guidance throughout their school journey. To provide safe sports and recreation for all our youth. To help guide the town to a fiscally responsible outcome. I respectfully ask for one of your votes for Town Meeting Member on June 27, 2020

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I would like the opportunity to be more active in our Town Government and give members of my precinct a voice in decisions that affect all aspects of life in Dedham. I believe that community leaders need to hear from residents and we residents have an equal responsibility to learn about the issues and become involved. As a Town Meeting Representative, I will work to encourage communication and transparency so that all residents feel included and informed about issues important to them and the town as a whole.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's Future? I want to live in a town that welcomes improvements while supporting and showcasing its current strengths. Decisions regarding economic development and planning must be fiscally responsible with foresight toward the community’s future needs. Dedham has many historical and natural resources for residents and visitors to enjoy. I support a focus on sustainability and environmental issues as well as improvements of outdoor spaces and recreation areas for all ages and abilities, including the Rail Trail project. Promotion of creative programming and learning opportunities for active elders are also among my priorities.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I have been actively engaged in our community and wish to continue working on improving and preserving the aspects that make our great town. My experience in serving the community has involved, working with community groups, the Dedham Education Foundation, town boards and committees such as the Parks and Rec. Commission, the Historic District Commission and the Mother Brook Arts and Community Center. This exposure has allowed for me to see first how the town and town meeting can work to support efforts in these areas.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? First, I will look for departments to be held accountable specifically to the Town Master Plan as well as any approved departmental plans. I believe traffic specifically and transportation in a larger sense need to be addressed and can be addressed through measures taken by town meeting working with the town departments such as Engineering and the Select Board. The need for growth and expanded housing have to be balanced with maintaining our neighborhoods and town character through proper planning, zoning and using best practices for design and use. I will also work to support and advocate to maintain and promote Dedham's historic resources and heritage.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? To have the opportunity to be a progressive voice for all my constituents, and continue to move Dedham forward with infrastructure and amenities appealing for individuals, young families, empty-nesters and everyone in between. Inclusion is also important to me. I will work hard to make Dedham a welcoming community for all individuals regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, or background. I can be reached at magee.patrick@gmail.com.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? Growth and revitalization, particularly in East Dedham, parts of which our precinct includes. Oakdale Elementary School is also currently under consideration for funding from the State to rebuild, identical to how the Early Childhood Education Center was funded. I will work diligently to ensure Oakdale Elementary is put on a course to be rebuilt within this decade, which serves our precinct.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I have served Dedham in a variety of capacities since early 2000s: PTAs, School Committee, Dedham High School Music Association, Human Rights Commission, Dedham Housing Authority and Town Meeting. I am running for re-election in Town Meeting because I want to be a voice for responsible growth and management of our Town. Too many people believe nothing should change, but change is inherently part of life, and part of our Town’s life and evolution. Dedham Town Meeting needs people who recognize that and want to serve to direct that growth and change into healthy, responsible choices. It has been a pleasure to represent Precinct 6 and I would like to serve another 3 years. I combine my 30 years of business background with community service to assist in managing the tasks ahead of us.
What are your priorities for Dedham's Future? My priorities for Dedham are 1) responsible financial management for Town choices, especially important during this emergency downturn that is coming up in future fiscal years, 2) fostering responsible growth and management of green and recreational space, 3) continuing Dedham’s historic emphasis on quality public education and 4) continuing to represent and encourage tolerance and the embrace of diversity in all areas of our Town.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I am up for reelection for my Precinct 6 seat. I am a life long member of the Dedham community. I have an interest in Dedham history and the future paths we will take together. I am following the footsteps of my dad, Frank Molloy, who was very invested in the town since becoming a resident of Dedham in 1958.
What are your priorities for Dedham's Future? Listening to the residents of Precinct 6 regarding their concerns and ideas. Reading/reviewing the news shares that are made through the various modes of media.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I love living in Dedham and since becoming a father, I have seen how important a healthy and enriching community is to a child growing up here, and I want to ensure Dedham continues to be a great community for my son and his generation, in addition to our seniors and my fellow residents. I hope my experiences in state and federal government as well as my five years as a Town Meeting member in Norwood would make me a reliable representative for my neighborhood and the town in general.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? Good schools, reduced traffic, preserving open spaces, libraries, senior citizens and parks.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? A resident of 10 years, Dedham is where I have chosen to raise my son for the experiences and connections we have had while here. I have been actively involved in local government for 4 years, in my capacities as a mother, educator and artist: elected-Town Meeting, appointed-Sustainability Advisory Committee, appointed-Parks and Recreation Master Plan Committee, member-Dedham Education Foundation, member-Friends of the DHRT, efforts throughout the town, volunteering and artistic developments. I seek reelection to Town Meeting to continue being an active citizen, leading as a progressive voice in improving the opportunities my family, my neighbors and rest of our town has. crobyn213@gmail.com
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? For all to have a voice in shaping Dedham’s future by increasing the community’s engagement. I hope for amplified attention on inclusivity, diversity and equality so that Dedham is a welcoming community for all individuals, regardless of their makeup, as this is paramount in creating an atmosphere of acceptance and overall health in our community. To focus on creatively maintaining and revitalizing our many neighborhoods, including their recreational spaces, trails, safe biking throughout the town, safe access for children to school and much more. Looking for Dedham to continue to move forward to offer the best that it can for its residents, present and future.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? I had served as an elected Town Meeting Representative for over 20 years in # 5 and now # 6 until last year's election. There were twice as many candidates in Precinct #6 because of the Rail Trail controversy and my years of service did not withstand the political mail effort to elect anti-rail trail candidates in that district.
What are your priorities for Dedham's future? The continued development of the centralization of municipal services at the Ames School and Dedham Square area. As an intern in Robert Hanson's Executive Secretary's Office in the late 1970's. I wrote a HUD grant which funded a Senior Center in East Dedham at the I & A building where the Cleaners and Breakfast restaurant are located. The Town refused to accept and endorse a Federal Affirmative Action Memorandum that accompanied all Federal Housing grants at the time and lost the money. After 40 years we still have not witnessed the opening of a Dedham Senior Center. I am hopeful my effort as a young student will finally come to fruition and those days of isolationism and neglect are over.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? My wife and I moved here as first time home-buyers in 2014 after finding Dedham had the characteristics of a community we valued: easy public transit into Boston for work, a vibrant downtown, walkable neighborhoods and homes that fit our budget. Serving as a Town Meeting member would be an opportunity to continue giving back to the place that I’m proud to now call home. As a member of Town Meeting I would commit to being well informed on our municipal issues and transparent with my thought process on decisions. Most importantly, I believe in listening to the concerns of my neighbors respectfully - especially when I may disagree.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future? I believe Town Meeting should be prioritizing support for our public schools, improving our town’s walkability and increasing availability of accessible recreation for all ages and abilities. We should ensure our town government is seeking input from members of our community, particularly those voices who are not well represented today. We can be thoughtful about our budgeting choices while continuing to invest in our town’s future and emphasizing projects that have long term positive impact.

Why are you running for Town Meeting? Dedham has been my home for my entire life. I have been an active member of the community for as long as I can remember, as well as a town meeting member for Precinct 7 since I was 18 years old. I also work as an accountant for the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust within the State Treasury. I combine my knowledge and passion for Dedham's history with my experience in municipal finance to make every vote on a town meeting article an informed vote. I look forward to representing my new neighbors and continuing to shape a bright future.
What are your top priorities for Dedham's future?
My top priorities for Dedham are balanced between optimism and realism. In representing Precinct 6, I intend on engaging with the residents to receive feedback and ensure everyone is heard. The Town of Dedham is a beautiful and safe community that is filled with wonderful people. Town meeting members work diligently to improve Dedham year after year. If elected, I can ensure my vote at each town meeting continues to advance Dedham and the people who live here.
